Over the last few weeks, staff and students in St. Kevin's have been getting into the Christmas spirit.
Ms Flanagan's Hotel and Catering class took part in the annual Christmas dinner tradition. The class made a wonderful dinner, with all the trimmings, for the class and for some of their teachers. Our JCSP students also had their annual Christmas party, with pizza and treats.
Our Wellbeing Committee conducted a survey asking students from, or with connections to, other countries about Christmas in those countries. The findings from these surveys were displayed around the school; it was great to get an insight into the customs and traditions from different countries and to celebrate the diversity in St. Kevin's.
Some of our Second and Third Year students spent some of their lessons on the run up to Christmas working on a textile project with Ms Blackburn. They cut out some materials and sewed some very festive snowmen.
Ms O'Dea's First Year Art class created some wonderful Christmas drawings, some of which are attached to this article

Ms Rice and Ms O'Neill ran Christmas Karaoke and Christmas Music Bingo events in the gym. Students from all year groups got an opportunity to sing their hearts out during lunchtime for the karaoke, and our First and Second Years had a great time at Music Bingo.
The Transition Years participated in a range of activities over the last two days. On Monday, they had bingo, team challenges, baking and a quiz. They then travelled to "Waterford Winterval" on Tuesday for a festive ice-skating session! Many thanks to all the teachers who helped organise these events, and to the tutors who travelled to Waterford with the students.
Huge thank you to everyone who helped to add a bit of Christmas magic over the last few weeks. We would like to wish everyone in the St. Kevin's community a very Merry Christmas!
