On Sunday morning 48 of our First-Year students, and six of their teachers, met before the crack of dawn in Dunlavin, and set off to attend the Premier League game between Manchester City and Aston Villa.
We arrived at the City of Manchester Stadium an hour before kick off to soak in the matchday atmosphere. At 4:30pm the game kicked off and we saw a strong Manchester City side secure a (mostly) comfortable 3-1 victory— much to the disappointment of Mr Cleere! It was an enjoyable game with plenty of goals, and it was great for the students to experience the spectacle of a live Premier League game. On the way home we visited the famous Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, for some last minute shopping.
It was a very enjoyable trip, and the students were impeccably behaved. We may have a few more Manchester City fans here in Dunlavin after this trip. Thank you Ms Reid and her team for organising!
