This week we celebrated Stand Up Awareness Week In St. Kevin's.
Over 80% of LGBTI+ students experience bullying in secondary schools throughout Ireland, we wanted to raise awareness about this fact and provide an inclusive safe space for our students.
Activities throughout the week included
🏳️🌈 Raising of the pride flag to mark the beginning of the week.
🌈 Rainbow bake sale for all students organised and ran by the 2 Red CSPE class.
🏳️⚧️ A wall of fame showcasing famous people who are members of or allies of the LGBTI+ community.
🏳️🌈 Rainbow jumper day.
🌈 Key Terms and raising awareness throughout SPHE lessons for all students.
😃 Smile Mosaic.
€354 was raised which will be donated to the BeLonG To Youth Service. This money is used to tackle anti-Bulling, one to one support, suicide prevention, resources to helps teachers around the country and a phone line to provide help, support and guidance.
Thank you to all the members of the school community who worked on or supported this worthy initiative.
